Kennesaw State University

Gleeds helped provide students with health and recreation services.

Over the past several years, Gleeds has been involved in numerous projects on Kennesaw State’s growing campus, including Prillaman Hall, a parking garage and a dining hall; so we were excited to be included on this project, providing the students at KSU with a state-of-the art health and recreation facility.

Built for growth

The new facility triples the amount of recreation space that was available in the existing building, better serving KSU’s growing 32,000+ student population. The phased project adds 127,200 SF of new construction and 48,900 SF renovation to the existing recreation facility. Amenities include an expanded weight and fitness area, two swimming pools, five new basketball courts, racquetball courts, tennis courts, sand volleyball courts and an indoor rock-climbing gym. The first phase of the project was completed in 2014, with the second phase completed in 2015.

Attention to detail and sustainability

The facility will pursue LEED® Silver Certification.
