Gleeds Director wins West Midlands Celebrating Construction Award
Tom Halcarz, Birmingham-based director at property and construction consultancy Gleeds, has won the West Midlands Celebrating Construction Young Achiever of the Year Award.
The awards celebrate the region’s most innovative projects and talented individuals, offering an opportunity to share best practice and to inspire others to adopt new and improved ways of working.
The Young Achiever of the Year Award recognises an individual’s personal achievements, the added value their contribution brings to client’s projects, and their potential to be a future leader. It is also part of the Generation for Change (G4C) movement within Constructing Excellence, a programme which aims to be the driving force for change through the ongoing development of future industry professionals.
As part of the submission criteria for the award, Tom was required to demonstrate how he has had a positive impact on his peers, the business he works for and the wider industry. He was also marked against G4C’s four current priority areas: industry change, intelligent client, leaders for the future and regionalisation.
Commenting on his win, Tom said: “I am very proud to have been named Young Achiever of the Year for the West Midlands. I have always been passionate about what I do and have been lucky enough to work with some great people who have inspired, motivated and mentored me along the way.”
