Gleeds boosts Southampton presence with office move

Gleeds is expanding its office in Southampton to accommodate growing staff numbers, boosting its capacity to service construction projects along the South Coast.

After spending 5 years located in Burlington House, Hedge End Gleeds relocates to bigger offices at Hutwood Court in Chandlers Ford at the beginning of September. The new building space is double the size of Gleeds’ previous office, increasing its floor space to 4,000 sq ft.

The move will help Gleeds deliver its growth aspirations to increase staff numbers in Southampton by 20% over the next 12 months. The company is currently supporting Hampshire’s Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) programme for GCSE level students, providing practical work experience to help young people get into the property and construction industry.

Commenting on Gleeds’ expansion plans Gleeds director for Southampton, Tony Deacon, said: “This is a really exciting time for our business. As we’ve moved out of the recession, construction has picked up markedly in the region. We’ve delivered some fantastic schemes for the likes of University of Bournemouth and IBM, and we’re very much looking forward to continuing this work in our new premises.”

Gleeds recently completed work on Bournemouth University’s iconic student centre and is now acting as cost manager for a new £15million teaching block.
