Gleeds appoint Michael Conway as director of Manchester-based advisory team

Gleeds is pleased to announce the recent appointment of Michael Conway as director of its advisory team based in Manchester.

Michael joins Gleeds following a career spanning more than 30 years in the UK construction industry, during which he has worked across numerous sectors including roads and infrastructure, energy, oil and gas and industrial and manufacturing. Before specialising in dispute resolution and consultancy work, Michael spent over 20 years in the UK contracting industry as a quantity surveyor and commercial manager for prominent companies including Lilley Group, Kier and Edmund Nuttall. For the past 10 years Michael has run his own consultancy business and more recently worked as a director with Hill International (UK) Ltd.

Michael is a chartered quantity surveyor, chartered builder, a practicing chartered arbitrator and registered adjudicator. His new role at Gleeds will involve providing expert witness support, quantum analysis and advisory services, as well as dispute resolution consultancy.

Commenting on his appointment, Michael said: “It is with great pleasure that I join Gleeds - a business with great heritage and that has protected its independence, while so many other similar consultancies have been acquired by larger conglomerates. I’m really looking forward to working with the team and using my experience to help develop our advisory services capabilities in the region.”

Richard Steer, Chairman of Gleeds Worldwide, added: “I am delighted to be welcoming Michael to the Gleeds team. He brings with him a wealth of experience thanks to his strong and varied background and I have no doubt that he’ll prove to be a real asset to both our clients and Gleeds.”
