The government’s sector deal announcement comes at a time of increased urbanisation, climate change and development in technology, which are swiftly changing how business is done and how we live and work in buildings.

Greater efficiencies have never been more needed, particularly given a sector skills shortage and women making up only 13.3% of the construction workforce, less than 1% more than in 1997.

Investing in technology and the workforce of tomorrow will not only drive cost and environmental savings but will also encourage new talent to join an innovative industry, a concept championed by Gleeds’ Global Challenge which engages students across the world every year to join the construction industry.
